The GIGA-S Vibratory Polisher is designed for gentle polishing of difficult materials, especially for EBSD (electron backscatter diffraction) sample preparation. Polishing is achieved by adjusting the voltage to change the rotational speed.
Recommended Consumables: CMP (Chemcial Mechanical Polishing) is recommended for polishing with the GIGA-S vibratory polisher. The most common CMP polishing slurries contain colloidal silica; however, we have found that the addition of polycrystalline alumina makes an even more effective polishing slurry which enhances polishing rates and significatnlty reduces the polishing relief associated with colloidal silica polishing.
